Europe at its Best - Detailed Itinerary:
Fixed Departure Date: June 20 & July 25, 2012
(Tour is guaranteed only if the Group Size reaches to 35Pax)
DAY 1: London (D)
On arrival at LHR, meet your Tour manager and board your local
coach for transfer to your airport or Wembley area hotel. Early
afternoon, depart for a half-day sightseeing tour of London.
First, we visit Madame Tussauds, where you can marvel at Amitabh
Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Salman Khan and many others. Later marvel at the Swaminarayan Temple. Late evening return to your hotel.
DAY 2: London – Dover - Ferry – Calais – Brussels
– The Netherlands (B/D)
This morning, meet your Tour Manager and join the coach for a
leisurely drive from London to Dover port, to board the ferry
for the short channel crossing to Calais. Upon arrival, we
proceed through Belgium. We first visit the city of Brussels,
where on our orientation tour we see the Grand Place, the
Mannekin Pis statue and the Atomium (photo stop). Later we drive
to the Netherlands and check into our hotel for a two-nights
stay.
DAY 3: The Netherlands: Amsterdam (B/L/D)
Today we visit the Madurodam Model Village to see miniature
Holland (or Keukenhof Gardens for arrivals in Holland between
March 20th and 18th May). Later we drive north through the flat
landscape of Holland passing windmills from a bygone era, to
Amsterdam for a canal cruise through the city’s complex system
of waterways and to visit a diamond house to see the cutters at
work. Late evening return to our hotel.
DAY 4: The Netherlands - Cologne – Mannheim /
Frankfurt area (B/L/D)
Today we proceed east across The Netherlands and into Germany.
We drive into the Rhine valley, where we board a cruise ship for
an unforgettable trip along the River Rhine, which traverses
through four countries. Admire the majestic views, mountain top
fairy tale castles and fortresses from a bygone era. Late
evening check into our hotel for an overnight stay.
DAY 5: Mannheim – Black Forest – Rhine Falls-
Switzerland (B/L/D)
Depart this morning for Switzerland. Enter into the enchanting
Black Forest region, where you will marvel at the timeless
serenity and unparalleled scenery around you. Our first stop is
at scenic Lake Titisee where you have time to admire the
scenery. Continuing our drive, we pass through small idyllic
villages before crossing the Swiss border and stopping at
Schaffhausen to visit the majestic Rhine Falls. Late evening we
check into our hotel.
DAY 6: Switzerland: Mount Titlis - Lucerne area
(B/L/D)
Driving through the Swiss alpine region and the winding mountain
roads to the valley of Engelberg, we start our ascent to board
the world’s first revolving cable car, reaching the peak of
10,000 feet and the highest viewpoint in central Switzerland
(weather permitting). Visit the Glacier Grotto or enjoy a
breathtaking panorama from the sun terrace. In the afternoon, we
begin our descent, passing the glaciers and thawing ice, which
create majestic waterfalls. Later we visit the town of Lucerne,
to see the Chapel Bridge and the Lion Monument. Later enjoy a
cruise on Lake Lucerne. Late evening return to our hotel.
DAY 7: Switzerland: Interlaken – Jungfraujoch
(B/L/D)
We first drive to the town of Interlaken, the scene of many
“Bollywood” films. We the drive to Lauterbrunnen, where we board
the train for the scenic journey to Jungfraujoch – Top of
Europe, the highest railway station in Europe at 3,454 metres
(weather permitting). Visit the Ice Palace with ice sculptures
or enjoy the panoramic views from the Sphinx Terrace. Early
evening we begin our descent and return to our hotel.
DAY 8: Switzerland – Vaduz – Liechtenstein
(B/L/D)
Depart this morning for Austria. On route we pass through Vaduz
and enjoy a short panoramic tour. Continue on and we pass
through the Arlberg Tunnel. Later we arrive at Wattens, where we
visit the famous Swarovski Crystal Worlds Shop displaying a
unique selection of Swarovski products. We then proceed to
Innsbruck, the capital of the Tyrol region. Enjoy this charming
town of green domes and red roofs - see the Hofburg and the
Goldenes Dachl. Late evening check into our hotel.
DAY 9: Innsbruck - Venice / Mestre area (B/L/D)
This morning we enjoy spectacular scenery as we drive across Europabrucke, one of Europe’s highest bridges, winding our way
through the Brenner pass to cross the Italian border. We leave
behind the mountains for sunny Italy, to visit Venice, the city
of unparalleled beauty and romantic gondolas. Our tour starts
with a boat ride to St. Mark’s Square – the most elegant square
in the world, to see the Bridge of Sighs, the Doges Palace and
the Basilica di San Marco. Here we also have a chance to watch
the Venetian glass blowers at work and maybe buy a souvenir for
the family. The group will also enjoy a Gondola boat ride,
through the intricate canals of this fascinating city. Later we
check into our hotel.
DAY 10: Mestre area – Florence – Arezzo (B/L/D)
Today we depart for Florence. Watch the amazing scenery change
as we cross the Apennines and the gentle hilly countryside of
Tuscany to reach Florence. On arrival in the city of the Medicis,
we will visit Piazzale Michelangelo to enjoy one of the best
views of this renaissance city across the River Arno. Later you
have free time to wander around this city, where traffic is
banned from the historic centre, admiring its timeless beauty.
Later we check into our hotel for a two-nights stay.
DAY 11: Arezzo – Rome – Arezzo (B/L/D)
Passing sunlit valleys of the Chianti wine country and ancient
fortresses perched high on the hills, we reach the ‘Eternal
City’. On arrival, we meet our expert local guide who will show
us the splendours of the Vatican Museums, including the Sistine
Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica, a renaissance masterpiece. In
the afternoon, we take in other ancient sights - the Colosseum,
the Roman Forum, which was the political centre of the Roman
Empire, and the spectacular Trevi Fountain, where you may make a
wish. Late evening return to our hotel.
DAY 12: Arezzo – Pisa – Nice area (B/L/D)
Joining the Autostrada, we first visit Pisa where you can marvel
at one of the wonders of the world, the legendary Leaning Tower
and also the Square of Miracles. We then begin our scenic drive
to Nice, the uncontested Queen of the French Riviera. Nice, the
biggest tourist resort in France, with its sun-kissed beaches,
crystal clear blue Mediterranean waters and romantic French
atmosphere, is perfectly situated on the sweeping Bay of Angels.
You have free time to stroll along the famous palm lined English
Promenade, above the wide crescent beach and savour the
atmosphere of this graceful Mediterranean resort. Soak in the
fun and fiesta that this city is famous for. Evening at leisure.
DAY 13: Nice – Cannes - Monte Carlo (B/L/D)
After a continental breakfast, we proceed on a full day
excursion to Cannes, Monaco & Monte Carlo. We drive along the
sparkling shores of the Riviera to fashionable Cannes. It is
difficult to imagine a more splendid location than glitzy
Cannes. Among the famous festivals held here, the most
celebrated is the International Festival of Cinema, which makes
Cannes one of the most visited cities in the world. Drive along
Boulevard de la Croisette and see the film festival center,
where the stars congregate each year. Later we visit the
glamorous Principality of Monaco, where we see Prince Rainier's
magnificent Royal Palace and the Cathedral, burial place of
Princess Grace. Enjoy an Indian vegetarian lunch. We then
proceed to Monte Carlo, playground of the rich and famous. Enjoy
the views of the splendid harbour with its expensive yachts and
drive along the famous Grand Prix circuit. You have free time to
laze around and explore this vibrant city on your own. Enjoy an
Indian veg / non-veg dinner. Overnight at Hotel Mediathel or
similar in Nice.
DAY 14: Nice – Geneva (B/L/D)
This morning, we proceed via the Route Napoleon to Geneva. On
arrival, proceed for a panoramic city tour, visiting the
beautiful Lake Geneva with its famous Jet d’eau fountain jutting
high into the sky, the Floral Clock and the impressive U N
Buildings. Evening at leisure.
DAY 15: Geneva – Paris (B/L/D)
This morning, we depart for the capital of France, one of the
most exciting and popular cities of Europe. Paris is renowned
for it’s fashion, perfumes and of course the most talked about
French wines. Later this evening enjoy cruise on the River Seine
which traverses past arches and bridges on the river.
DAY 16: Paris City Tour & Paris by Night tour
(B/L/D)
Today we visit the top floor of the Eiffel Tower to witness a
spectacular panoramic view of the city. Later this afternoon, on
the orientation tour of Paris, we will be introduced to the main
sights: Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame, Louvre Museum, Opera House,
Champs Elysees and Concorde Square. Next we visit a French
perfumery for some shopping. Later this evening, enjoy a 'Paris
by night' tour (included), where you will see the famous sights
of Paris illuminated. Finally join us for an exciting (optional)
Lido cabaret show.
DAY 17: Paris- Calais - Ferry- Dover-London
(B/L/D)
Today after breakfast, time for some last minute shopping and we
later depart and journey north for Calais to board the ferry for
the return channel crossing. On arrival at Dover port, we board
our local coach and arrive London. Early evening, check in to
our hotel in the Heathrow airport/ Wembley area.
DAY 18: London City (B/L/D)
After breakfast, we visit the London Eye for a spectacular
panoramic view of central London, continuing on our tour, we
will pass important land marks such as Trafalgar Square,
Buckingham palace, Parliament house, Big-Ben, Westminster Abbey.
Afternoon is free for shopping. After Indian dinner overnight
stay.
DAY 19: London - Flight out – Return (B)
After breakfast we check out and its time to say farewell to all
the friends you have made on tour. Finally we transfer to the
airport for the return flight to India where the tour ends.
