Welcome to
Egypt
Egypt is a prime location to see our great heritage
from the ancient world, including Pyramids and wonderful
temples, but it is also part of the Holy Land, and tours to
Christian and other religious monuments are popular. Yet Egypt
also offers nature and desert treks, great scuba diving and even
golf, fishing and birding expeditions. One may choose to relax
on the wondrous Egypt Red Sea or Sinai coasts, take in the high
culture of Cairo, or even leisurely float down the
Egyptian Nile
on a luxurious river boat.
Egypt, ancient land of the Pharaoh's and home to the legendary
Pyramids of Giza is a destination that simply must be visited at
least once. Sail aboard a felucca, as it gently plies the Nile,
explore the Valley of the Kings and the tomb of King Tut, swim
in the azure waters of the Red Sea, ascend holy Mt Sinai, haggle
in the exotic bazaars of Cairo, or just simply soak up the sun.

Factoid: "One
of the seven wonders of the ancient world was built
in the desert at Giza, near modern Cairo called The
Great Pyramid. The Great Pyramid is also known as
the Pyramid of Khufu, or Cheops. It was built around
2560 BC, making it more than 4500 years old. The
lighthouse at Alexandria was also one of the wonders
of the ancient world, although nothing remains of it
today.. "

"
Crime in Egypt is nearly nonexistent, and violence
is usually limited to families. However, in heavy
tourist areas, pickpockets and petty thieves may be
plying their trade, so be careful. Just remember
that the ever-helpful tourism police are usually
nearby. Women must be cautious, especially in
out-lying areas. And, stay completely away from
drugs. "
