  • Early morning at 04:00 AM, meet our chauffeur and proceed to visit Tiger Hill, the highest point in Darjeeling hills at an altitude of 2590 meters. (Subject to availability of Permit / Token) .
    • Tiger Hill is located 11kms from Darjeeling town.
    • Tiger Hill is famous for its magnificent view of Mt.Kanchenjunga, Mt. Everest and other eastern Himalayan peaks especially at the time of sunrise. The best season to see the dazzling snow-covered peaks as the sun rises is between March to April and Mid October to December.
  • Return to the hotel.

    • The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (The DHR), known to generations of local school children as “The Toy Train”, is the world’s most famous, two feet gauge railway. It is a masterpiece of 19th-century engineering, a product of the world’s first industrial revolution. The railway was completed in 1881 and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999.
    • Toy Train Joy Rides – Diesel and steam locomotives with first class carriages that take passengers on 2hour trip from Darjeeling to Ghoom and return. The joyride includes a 10minute stop at Batasia Loop and 30minute stop at Ghoom Railway Museum (Ghoom is the highest railway station in India).
  • Return to Hotel.

    • Tsomgo Lake (38kms from Gangtok): Ethereally beautiful Tsomgo Lake is also known as Changu Lake is a glacial lake in Sikkim and located at an altitude of 12,400 feet. Tsomgo Lake is one of the few and awesome high altitude lakes in India. The name Tsomgo means ‘Source of water’. The steep route known as Jawaharlal Nehru Road leads all the way to Nathula Pass. As you travel from Gangtok, you will notice an altitude rise of about 10,000ft in just 15kms. The lake becomes doubly attractive with the reflections of the surrounding hills on the water.
    • < Note: For any reason, if entry to Tsomgo Lake is closed, we will provide alternate sightseeing.
    • Baba Mandir (55kms away from Gangtok city: On 4 October 1968, a young soldier died on the India-China border while serving in the Indian Army. Every soldier posted on Nathu La has his own version of the story of Harbhajan’s afterlife. Harbhajan was known as “Baba” among his collogues because he was very religious. The army constructed a temple complex called Baba Mandir. The mandir started as a small monument. In 1982, it was moved to its current and more accessible location near Nathu La Pass.
    • Note: Due to the high altitude, there is a lack of oxygen in the air. You should take adequate precautions and consult a doctor before visiting the Temple if you have any health or breathing problems.
  • Return and Stay Overnight at Gangtok.

The best time to visit Darjeeling is from mid-September to mid-December, although it gets quite cold by December. The season resumes around mid-March and continues till mid-June but as the haze builds up the views become less clear. During the monsoon months – June to September, clouds obscure the mountains and the rain is often so heavy. To Catch the unhindered view of Mt. Kanchenjunga, October to December is the best to visit Darjeeling.
